Aequs Automotive today announced the inauguration of its new automotive manufacturing facility located in the Aequs Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Belagavi. The new 27,000 square feet facility, which was made operational in only 11 months, will manufacture engine, transmission and hydraulic components for passenger and commercial vehicles for export to Aequs customers such as Jacobs Vehicle Systems, Bosch Group, Danaher Group, and Eaton
“As part of our strategy for expanding automotive manufacturing capabilities, we’re excited to launch our new SEZ-based manufacturing facility into our global manufacturing ecosystem,” said Aravind Melligeri, Chairman and CEO of Aequs. This new 100% export-oriented facility complements Aequs Automotive’s existing 20,000 square feet manufacturing facility in Bengaluru; together, they position Aequs Automotive as a significant emerging global supplier in automotive manufacturing.
As the guest of honour at the new facility’s inauguration, Nitin Chalke, Managing Director of Eaton India said, “This new state-of-the-art facility greatly enhances Aequs Automotive’s capability to deliver world-class quality, delivery and value to its global customers. We at Eaton are excited about our partnership with Aequs Automotive to serve the fast-growing global automotive market.”
The new facility is just the latest example of Aequs’ commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. In fact, Aequs has been making in India since 2007 by manufacturing in Bengaluru and Belagavi to serve the global automotive, aerospace and oil & gas industries.
