Aequs Pvt. Ltd., a global manufacturing company headquartered in Belagavi, Karnataka, today introduced the ‘Cycle the Campus’ initiative, aimed at helping employees move comfortably on a bicycle across the 260+ acre Aequs Special Economic Zone. It is a step towards strengthening the company’s ‘Green Campus-Clean Campus’ initiative, which promotes eco-friendly practices within the campus and preserves the delicate balance between its green cover and manufacturing facilities. The initiative was inaugurated by Mr. Thierry CLOUTET, Head of Procurement in India, Airbus and accompanied by Mr. Rajeev Kaul, MD & CEO, Aequs Aerospace.
Commenting on the initiative, Rajeev Kaul, MD, and CEO, Aequs Aerospace said, “Cycle the Campus’ has been introduced at Aequs, to strengthen our focus towards our sustainability goals. We believe that this initiative reflects our efforts to inculcate every aspect of our operations with sensitivity towards the environment. It is a step in the direction of reinforcing our commitment to the climate, improving air quality, and reducing carbon footprint and vehicular emissions. Providing an alternative commuting option is a bid to preserve our pristine campus while simultaneously facilitating a healthier lifestyle among our employees. We have also provided safety and sanitization guidelines to ensure their well-being at all times.”
Aequs employees can commute with ease, across the lush green campus on these unisex bicycles, fitted with a robust frame and airless tyres to ensure a safe and smooth ride. The bicycles are GPS enabled and equipped with a fully automated smart lock mechanism that can be unlocked through an app. Parked at docking stations located at strategic junctions across the campus, the bikes can be accessed and used by unlocking them through a QR code available on the app. This initiative will provide Aequs’ employees with a healthy, pollution-free, and green commuting mode within the campus.
